Theta Labs uses Privy for authentication. You can sign in with your email address, a Google account, or an external wallet you already own. When you sign in for the first time, Privy creates an embedded wallet for you automatically. This wallet is tied to your login — you don’t need to manage a seed phrase or install any browser extension to get started. After your first sign-in, a short onboarding collects your display name (and optionally a phone number) along with a few quick questions about your trading experience.
Embedded wallets are non-custodial. Theta Labs never holds your private keys — they are secured through Privy’s infrastructure, and only you can authorize activity from your wallet.

Enable trading

Before your first deposit can convert, you complete a one-time Enable trading approval in the Wallet modal. This authorization lets Theta Labs convert your deposits and place your trades instantly, without a signing prompt on every action.
  • Your keys are never held by Theta Labs
  • The approval only works with the connected trading venues
  • You can revoke it at any time

Your wallet

Your account uses one user-facing wallet on Polygon. You can see your addresses in two places:
  • The Wallet modal (click the cash pill in the top navigation, or Deposit on the Portfolio page) — shows your deposit address with a QR code and copy button.
  • Your Profile page — lists your Deposit wallet (Polygon) and Signing wallet (Polygon) addresses, each with copy buttons and Polygonscan links.

Funding your account

Funding is fully automatic — there is no transfer step:
  1. Open the Wallet modal and copy your Polygon deposit address (starts with 0x).
  2. From an exchange or another wallet, send USDC on the Polygon network to that address.
  3. The app detects the deposit and converts it to pUSD, your tradeable balance. The modal shows staged progress: Deposit detected… → Finalizing… → Converting your deposit to pUSD…
  4. Your Available balance updates when conversion completes — typically well under a couple of minutes. Your very first deposit includes a one-time wallet setup that adds a few extra seconds.
Send USDC on the Polygon network only. Sending other tokens, or USDC on a different network, is not supported and funds may not be recoverable — contact support immediately if you’ve sent to the wrong network (see the FAQ for support channels).

Your balance

Your Available balance is the pUSD cash ready to deploy in new trades. It’s shown in the cash pill in the top navigation and in the Balance card on your Portfolio page, alongside:
  • In position — the current market value of your open spot and options positions
  • Total traded — your lifetime trading volume
Available decreases when you open a position and increases when you sell, redeem winning shares, or an option settles in the money.
