Theta Labs uses Privy for authentication. You can sign in with your email address or a social account (Google, Apple, etc.) — no external wallet like MetaMask or Phantom is required. When you sign in for the first time, Privy creates an embedded wallet for you automatically. This wallet is tied to your login and lives in your browser. You don’t need to manage a seed phrase or install any browser extension to get started.
Embedded wallets are non-custodial. Theta Labs never holds your private keys — they are encrypted and stored in your browser via Privy’s secure infrastructure. Only you can sign transactions from your wallet.

Your wallets

Theta Labs creates two wallets for you:
WalletNetworkUsed for
EVM walletPolygonPolymarket trades
Solana walletSolanaKalshi trades
Both wallet addresses are shown on your Portfolio page. Navigate to Portfolio → Deposit to see your EVM address (for Polygon deposits) and your Solana address (for Solana deposits).

Funding your account

Always deposit to the correct chain. Sending USDC on the wrong network (for example, sending Solana USDC to your EVM address) will result in lost funds that cannot be recovered.
To trade on Polymarket markets, deposit USDC.e on the Polygon network to your EVM wallet address.
  1. Go to Portfolio and click Deposit.
  2. Copy your EVM wallet address (starts with 0x).
  3. From a centralized exchange or another wallet, send USDC.e to that address on the Polygon network.
  4. Once the transaction confirms on-chain, your balance appears under Polymarket on the Portfolio page.
From there, you can use the Transfer button to move funds from your Theta Labs holding wallet to your Polymarket account, making them available to trade.

Buying power

Your buying power is the total USDC available across your connected accounts, ready to be deployed in trades. It is displayed on the dashboard and the Portfolio page. Buying power is broken down by platform:
  • Theta Labs — funds held in your Privy EVM wallet, not yet transferred to a trading platform
  • Polymarket — available USDC in your Polymarket account
  • Kalshi — available USDC in your Kalshi account
The total shown at the top of your Portfolio page is the sum of all three. Open positions are tracked separately under Positions.

Paper trading balance

Options trading on Theta Labs is paper trading. When you first sign in, you receive a $1,000 virtual balance that you can use to trade calls and puts without risking real money. Your paper trading balance appears in the Options card on the Portfolio page, alongside your realized P&L from paper trades. This balance is separate from your live USDC holdings and does not affect your real portfolio value.
