# Positions and history

> Read an open position, close it, and follow the history feed and settled-window pages.

Your open positions and past activity live on the **Portfolio** page under the **positions** and **history** tabs. The market page adds a **Live Positions** panel for the window you are looking at.

## Open positions

Under **positions → Interval markets**, each row shows:

| Field                | What it means                                                                                                                                       |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Market** | Image and title, then your side and cadence with the countdown, for example "Up · 15m · closes in 12m", or "· settling" once the window has closed. |
| **Contracts** | How many you hold on that side. |
| **Entry** | Your average purchase price, in cents. |
| **Now** | The current mark, in cents. |
| **Pays** | What you receive if the side wins, for example "\$5.00" with "if Up". |
| **Value / P\&L** | The position's current value and unrealized profit or loss with a percentage, or "awaiting settle" after the close. |
| **Trade** / **View** | Opens the market page. The button reads **View** once the window is settling. |

Positions refresh every 10 seconds.

## Live Positions on the market page

The panel above the outcome row shows your contracts in the current window:

* **Buying power** at the top: pUSD not committed to open windows.
* One row per side with a color dot, the side label (for example "Up" or "49ers Down"), the contract count, the value, and a red **Sell** button.
* A sub-line with "entry 51¢ · now 54¢" and "pays \$5.00 if Up".
* Totals: **Value**, **Unrealized** (for example "+\$0.15 (+5.9%)"), and **Total return** (your realized profit or loss on this market).

When you hold nothing, it reads "No position in this window yet."

## Closing a position early

Hold the **Sell** button on a side's row in **Live Positions** until it reads "Selling…". That sells the whole position on that side at updown's bid, and the realized difference is paid or collected immediately. To sell a partial amount, use the ticket's **Market → Sell** form. See [Placing orders](/trading/placing-orders#selling-back).

<Tip>
  Selling early gives you the current bid rather than the \$1 settlement value. Holding to the close pays more if your side wins, but selling removes the uncertainty.

## History

The **history** tab lists every fill and settlement, newest first, with **All / Interval** filters. Each row shows:

| Element            | What it shows                                                                                                 |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Label** | **Bought**, **Sold**, **Won**, **Lost**, or **Settled**. |
| **Title and side** | The market and the side you held, in the side's color. |
| **Detail**         | For example "3.00 contracts @ 51¢", "· paid \$1 each", "· settled worthless", or "· nothing owed either way". |
| **Time**           | When it happened.                                                                                             |
| **Cash** | The signed cash effect, for example "+$3.00" or "−$1.53". |
| **P\&L** | Realized profit or loss with a percentage, where applicable. |

Withdrawals also appear here as "Withdrawal to 0x…". History refreshes every 30 seconds and shows up to 200 rows.

<Note>
  A window you sold out of completely shows only its **Sold** rows. If you held both sides of a window, the winning side is shown.
</Note>

## Settled-window pages

Click a history row's title, or pick a window from the **Past** dropdown on a market page, to open its result page. It shows the header (for example "Crypto · 15 min · settled"), the **Result** ("Up won", "Rangers up", or "unchanged — settles down"), **Open**, **Close**, and the full static chart with the level to beat marked as "Target".

A page appears within seconds to about 5 minutes of the close. Before it is recorded, it reads "This window isn't recorded yet — Windows are saved shortly after they close." with a **Back to the live market** link.

<Info>
  Older accounts may see **Options**, **Written (covered)**, and **Markets** sections with **Redeem**, **Sell**, and **Share** buttons. Those belong to a discontinued product and appear only if you still hold positions in it.
